Daily Journey – September 13th: Protecting Our Inner Fortress from Fear

Daily Journey

Our system of beliefs about the world and our place in it is the fortress that protects us internally from the external pressures that can harm us emotionally. Reinforcing these walls increases our fortitude and makes us more resilient to the storms and other external storms and sieges of the outside world.

If we fail to build up and strength these fortifications we will be less resilient to the negative effects of the problems we are bound to face in life.

We must prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally, for the inevitable events that will test the strength of our Inner Fortress.

Daily Journey is a collection of my thoughts from reading The Daily Stoic: 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance, and the Art of Living.  My objective is to gain greater control of my emotional responses by reading and sharing my thoughts on stoicism with you all everyday over the course of a next year.  If you would like to explore these topics with me, and others who are seeking to gain emotional control I these articles to the Mastery of Skill closed facebook group and would love for you to join in on the conversation.

Live Skillfully!
