Daily Journey – October 6th: Looking Out for Each Other

Daily Journey

Thinking you are always in direct competition with everyone else on the planet is a truly limiting world view. It is important to know the difference between friendly competition and true winner takes all rivalry.

We do compete, and we do have those we are truly in competition with, but not everyone is our rival or adversary. Sometimes watching others win and cheering them on is warranted and important.

You could even argue that helping someone else win could yield rewards of a different kind. After all, we can become stronger when we practice against a more skilled opponent.

Daily Journey is a collection of my thoughts from reading The Daily Stoic: 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance, and the Art of Living.  My objective is to gain greater control of my emotional responses by reading and sharing my thoughts on stoicism with you all everyday over the course of a next year.  If you would like to explore these topics with me, and others who are seeking to gain emotional control I these articles to the Mastery of Skill closed facebook group and would love for you to join in on the conversation.

Live Skillfully!
