Daily Journey – December 2nd: Don’t Mind Me, I’m Only Slowly Dying

What would you do if you were diagnosed with a terminal illness? Would you start being nicer to your friends and family? Would you take a trip? WOuld you write a book?
Would you spend more time doing the things things you love? Would eat healthier and exercise more to try and fight off the prognosis?

Why don’t you just start doing those things now? Life is a terminal condition. Accepting the inevitability of our mortality can generate significant positive changes in our lives.

It is just a simple fact that we are steadily advancing towards the end of our lives… we don’t need a terminal diagnosis in order to be given permission to live the way we want to live.

Daily Journey is a collection of my thoughts from reading The Daily Stoic: 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance, and the Art of Living.  My objective is to gain greater control of my emotional responses by reading and sharing my thoughts on stoicism with you all everyday over the course of a next year.  If you would like to explore these topics with me, and others who are seeking to gain emotional control I these articles to the Mastery of Skill closed facebook group and would love for you to join in on the conversation.
